Ebook {Epub PDF} Singing the Dogstar Blues by Alison Goodman

Luckily, Alison Goodman's world in SINGING THE DOGSTAR BLUES is remarkably believable and "real": I could very nearly see all that Joss sees through the sharp and precise writing. The one complaint I had about this book was the predictability of the ending/5(23). Offering much mystery, adventure and food for thought, Singing the Dogstar Blues is a rich, futuristic romp. Fans of M.T. Anderson's Feed and Nancy Farmer's House of the Scorpion ought to feel right at home in the futuristic world Alison Goodman has conjured a world which, oddly enough, feels perfectly real in no time. The themes are normal enough: Joss is trying to figure out who she is and find a place . 35 rows · Singing the Dogstar Blues PDF book by Alison Goodman (Singing the Dogstar Blues).

Joss Aaronson has two loves in her life: playing the blues and training to jump through time. Then Mavkel, the first alien student on Earth, selects her to be his time-travel partner and Joss’s life gets a lot more complicated. There’s an assassin on campus, an anti-alien lobby group chanting slogans, and Joss is constantly being tracked by the tight security around her new friend. I’m always on the lookout for a fun space-related story. Singing the Dogstar Blues isn’t set in space but there is a very futuristic feel to it and ALIENS so it definitely hit my sweet spot. If you are wondering if this book reads at all like Goodman’s other book Eon, the answer, at least for me, is absolutely not.
